SopCast (Linux)

SopCast is a free programme which allows you to watch television channels via internet while providing the possibility of free broadcasting of your own video content or your own channel, even in real time.
SopCast is based on P2P technology. In other words, whoever receives a channel also serves as a broadcaster, distributing the signal among all users, thereby improving the transmission quality.
Any search will reveal a large number of channels providing all types of content, films, series, video clips, sports, etc. In addition the programme allows the user to record a video while watching a TV channel or manually programme a recording of a channel even though it is not online. The SopCast player can be embedded in a website.
