Can anybody help me? As a child, my favorite poem was about fairies... It started I keep three wishes ready, lest I should chance to meet, anyday a fairy, walking down the street...I'd hate to have to stammer,or have to think things out....thats where my memory ends...Anyone out there remember this one? I would like to have it framed to put up with my daughter's fairy collection & I am oh so stuck with the ending...Thanks
According to google:
I keep Three Wishes Ready
I keep three wishes ready,
Lest I should chance to meet,
Any day a fairy
coming down the street.
I'd hate to have to stammer,
Or have to think them out,
For it's very hard to think things up
When a fairy is about.
And I'd hate to lose my wishes,
For fairies fly away,
And perhaps I'd never have a chance
on any onter day.
So I keep three wishes ready,
Lest I should chance to meet,
Any day a fairy
coming down the street.

Glenda, Thank you so much!! That's it..and as soon as I read it, the memory kicked in! This will look beautiful with Regan's collection of fairy dolls. She will be very happy...I appreciate your help!!
You're very welcome. What a neat idea for a collection.
Glenda, I'll tell you what's really neat...after 3 girls..I finally got the 4th who shares not only my interest in dolls, but also poetry & a fascination with fairies..LOL Took me forever to get one that I could share my "stuff" with...YEAH!! She will have this poem committed to memory by nightfall!!Again, thank you!!
Those first 3 are gonna feel pretty silly when their fairy shows up and they have no well thought out wishes at hand.
