That chilling pierce I feel,
my dead wife's comb
underneath my heel

I know this is not exact, and I think there is a line about in their bedroom.

Anyone recognize this?

Thanks in advance!

JK, this is a haiku, by Taniguchi Buson

The piercing chill I feel:
my dead wife's comb, in our bedroom,
under my heel.

Hmmm ... I count 18 syllables, and no nature theme. There is a rhyme, though. I wonder how it reads in the original.

Something is scratching for attention down at the lower depths of memory about this particular theme. Lovers' combs, I mean. Perhaps if I stop concentrating on it, it will rise to the surface?

Aha, now I remember:

You forgot your comb on the dresser.
The stars are my witness,
I will not give it back.
--Yannis Ritkos

Not exactly the same thing, no.

I think it's just a part of the wife's memory, so it occurs the past time with his wife.
And the word itself is not really inportant, i guess you should figure out a connection of 5 worlds- comb, hill, bed, wife, chill.
The important thing is that all of them are concrete words. they are visual imagery, however form them you can get the tactile imagery of coldness.
it's just my oppinion.^^
