From William Wordsorth's Ode on Intimations of Immortality
What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now forever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower,
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind

thanks Les for the info I was looking for this and I am very thankful that you have shared it with me I think it is a great Ode/poem and I hope I will be able to share it with others, who will appriciate it as much as i do.
thankis again, Rochelle
though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass/
of glory in the flower,we'll grieve out/rather find strength in what remains
behind/in the primal sympathy which having been must ever be/ in the soothing thoughts that spring out of human suffering/in the faith that
looks through death/thanks to the human heart by which we live/thanks to its tenderness,its joy,its fear/to me the meanest flower that blows can give thoughts that do often lie too deep for tears
i quoted it from the movie A River Run Throughs It
Below is the correct poem and author
What though the radiance
which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass,
of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.
William Wordsworth

I first saw this movie when I was young, I named my first girl Natalie. I like most of her films. But she broke down when she read this poem, because Bud had broke her innocent heart. DeeDee was fragile anyway and would have done anything for Bud. Write back. The ending was sad too, he had a farm, but was happy enough. Peace to all of you. Leanna
Leanna, did you have something to say about Wordsworth? He didn't act much, but he sure could sing.
Les
