Blessings on thee, little man,
Barefoot boy with cheeks of tan........

This of course would be Longfellow's
"The Barefoot Boy."
I have lost my poetry book, so I can't
type it in for you, but look up Longfellow.
It is an extremely beautiful poem, wherein he
writes things like
"All too soon these feet must hide
In the prisons cells of pride,
Lose the freedom of the sod,
Like a colt's for work be shod,
Made to tread the mills of toil
Up and down in ceaseless moil,
Happy if they sink not in
Quick and treacherous sands of sin,
Happy if their track be found
Never on forbidden ground.
Ah! that thou coulds't know thy joy
'Ere it passes, barefoot boy!"
I'm sure you could find it under Longfellow.
Not Longfellow, Jessie, Whittier. Check out the link on the post above yours.

Of course. Whittier. As I said, I lost my poetry book. Thanks, Les.
Les, can you help me get back? I have a question on a new topic and I can't log on. I forgot user name and I forgot password. I don't want to start all over again with that. Thank you. Jessie M.
