I'm tanslating an article which refer to a poem by Thomas Hady. In the evening of a joyful Christams eve, the poet saw a little bird died in the bise outside the window , then he made a plaint like, you little bird, you don't even give me a joyous night. can anyone show me the complete poem on line? Thanks a million!
Perhaps "The blinded bird" or "The darkling thrush", though neither mention Xmas. Most of Hardy is online- he's out of copyright- so ifyou have an exact quotation try googling it.
A search for Hardy and little bird on Google gives two possibilities, the budgie and the downy woodpecker.
I'll keep looking!
thanks, allen.
I am sure neither the two poems you mentioned is the one I am looking for, for they are already in my reference. May be i should wirte a letter of enquiry to the author of the article which I am working on straight.
And henry, thanks for your interesting reply.
When you find out I'd be interested to know where it came from, thanks.
