I am aware that his ancestors were involved in the Salem Witch trials and all I have read of him (The Minister's Black Veil, Young Goodman Brown, Rappaccinni's Daughter, and The Scarlet Letter) are all in someway knocking Calvinism/Puritainism. Anyway I am researching his background and reading (or rather skimming as the semester nears ending very soon and 4 papers left to write in a few short weeks) many critical books on his writing. So in short, any great ideas of Hawthorne or some sort of interesting topic that comes to mind that I ought to consider for a thesis or consider in any other way.
I'm not a real big fan of Hawthorne, but I am aware of his impact on American literature and I honestly just thought it be an interesting research paper.
