hi there i have to solve this question in order to go to final so plz help me in solve it In political terms Othello, Julius Caesar and As You Like It are conservative plays which ensure that subversive elements are ultimitely contained. With referance to two of the plays discuss this statement in no more than 1,500 words


i will ask u to do this
first define the conservative plays
second what is subversive or subversion
third where can i find the subversion in othello and how he contained to it
forth where can i find the subversion in julius and how he contained to it
please help me in write these four pragraphes and i will appreciate that to u all

Yeah, Sparknotes gives good synopses for most of Shakespeare's plays.

It would seem the definition of conservative plays is,

>conservative plays which ensure that subversive elements are ultimitely contained.

If so, I would have to disagree with the plays chosen by the instructor. Is Iago a subversive element that is ultimately contained? Au contraire. Well, yeah, he dies, but so does everyone else. Are Caesar's murderers ultimately contained? Brutus commits suicide - is that a containment?

I think of As You Like It more as a romantic comedy than a conservative work. Yuck, tough assignment.
