I have to give a presentation in class and I am having difficulty thinking of an interesting delivery style. Any ideas?

I'm no authority but,

speak from the heart and not the mouth
humour helps
bring in imagery and analogy
believe in what you present otherwise don't present it.
speak clearly
dress properly
stand on your feet and not the ground
be courteous to the person before and after you.

-Know a lot more about the subject than you are planning to tell. So, never try to tell everything you know. (this will give you a lot of confidence and gives room for questions).

- have a glass of water handy. If you fear you are going to have a blackout, drink some water or pretend to while holding your breath. A blackout is caused by too much oxygen in your brains, so holding your breath will counter the effect. Also remember that time goes a lot slower for you than for the public. Don't hesitate to take small pauses. It will look more professional and allows the people some time to let the information you gave sink in.

- try to work with spreadsheets or handouts: write on it what you are going to say in a very short form. This has two effects: a lot of people are visually inclined, and will be better able to follow what you say. And it will move the attention away from you, which will probably make you feel better.

What is the subject? A poem? Which one?

Practice aloud at home.

Speak more slowly then you think you should. It's easy to panic and speed up. If you've got a friend in the room, make eye contact.

Don't forget to breathe.

By interesting style, I'm not sure what you mean- I wouldn't recommend trying a Groucho Marx imitation. Act friendly, smile, make a joke if it's appropriate to the material. If you're doing PowerPoint, keep the slides simple, and don't just read from the slide- your audience could do that without you!

I forgot to list the most important thing -

DON'T TRY TO IMPRESS, if you really wish to impress your audience.

hey
umm i duno if im late or uve already done ur presentation but try doing something different and extertain your class instead of boring them out.
Do a powerpoint presentation n b4 u actually give out ur speech or wateva hand out flyers of what ur going to talk about.. sort of like a menu of what ur going to talk bout and hav some examples of images or quotes from what ur going to talk about. I thought that really works maybe u shud try it because thats how you'l capture ur audiences attention.. :)
