hi, i'm thinking of writing an essay on one of these questions about The Saga of Arrow Odd and Gisli Sursson's Saga:

‘The saga of Arrow-Odd explores the integration of a personality, while Gisli Sursson’s saga is concerned with the disintegration of one’. How satisfactory do you find this claim?

OR

‘In order to read Arrow-Odd and Gisli Sursson’s saga as narratives of power, due recognition must be given to the roles played by the female characters’. Discuss.

OR

Gisli Sursson is told in a dream that he has seven years to live; a sorceress predicts that Arrow-Odd will have three hundred. How successfully, in your opinion, do the two heroes deal with the problems and opportunities that come with this knowledge?

The problem is that i dont know where to start and i can't seem to find any resources either on the internet or in the library. Can anyone help? Thanx!

Tj,

I assume you've read the works. (Sorry, I haven't) If there are strong female characters that interest you, pick question 2.

Question 1 assumes that Arrow-old is about someone growing- becoming more complete, whereas Gisli is someone falling apart- probably emotionally.

Question 3 sounds like the most general- look for examples of how each character deals with the knowledge of how long they have to live.
