I couldn't.
The Convergence of the Twain by Thomas Hardy is an extended metaphor. He talks about the meeting of the iceberg and the titanic, by using "intimate welding" and "mate" a perfect example of a conceit. This is also a personification. There is much more personification in this poem too, for the girl who was looking for personification.
