A Young Leaf Fell In Spring<br />
A young leaf fell, in spring
And it was wearing
A gray coat with a muted green
Fighting to be seen
A soft wind carried the leaf
Whose short-lived grief
Buried its longing for life
In Hope's archive
Soon it fell amidst the shed
Skin of winter's dead
And was then thrown up again
Dotted by mud stain
In a nearby pond, the ripples
Smoothed, and the brittle
Silence, in its quietest moment
Wished to be broken
And the wind had grown weary
Of having to carry
A heavy load of sorrow in spring
Among other things
So the tiny leaf was let afloat
Still, nothing was bold
Enough to stir or move, except
Silence left
