     The Appointment<br />

Old friends, long gone now.
How they lived and how they died
Echoing still upon my mind.
They lie waiting now,
Silent and still.
Waiting for the promise
Of Him who cannot lie.
He's out there somewhere,
Waiting to meet me.

What is happening, are we all getting old or something, reminiscing about lost youth. 'Rage, rage, against the dying of the light'

We're here today and gone tomorrow,
And there aint no pocket in a shroud.
It aint for the good times that I missed ,that I regret,
It's for the good times that I might as well have had,
And didn't.

Oh John, I was hoping this'd be a newer post from you, but alas it is not. I do believe I've seen this before, but at the time I could not appreciate it. Rereading this now, it moves me. As always, well done.

One of your finest, John. Thanks for the bump, Sarah.
