Hmm... I don't know how to describe this poem, but I really like it. It's simple, and seems to have some humour to it, and yet conveys a message ("then gave a scratch and a scratch he received").
"A horse! A horse! My kingdom for a horse!"
I think that's a quote from something. Did you have this in mind?
