I'm picking up my heart
I'm leaving you behind.
Get you out of my head
Get you out of my mind.
All the things we could
have been, to you I'd be true.
It's not ever easy to love
it's even harder losing you.
Move on, I will if I
absolutely, truely must.
I'll never forget my passion for you
because it was always more than lust.
Hi Kiki,
I noticed "something special" about you upon reading the first poem you shared here, "Before you..." It has a wonderful classical romantic quality to it and in my humble opinion the best you've shared yet.
The one under the posting "Something Special" where you give insight into your situation with your mom is indeed insightful as to where part of your specialness originates. I truly regret that you've had such a difficult and painful experience growing up. No child deserves to go through such. However, in spite of such pain and adversity you have apparently, wondrously through faith and perseverance allowed the pain and suffering to become precious jewels of your beautiful soul and heart. Akin to lumps of coals thru years of pressures and stresses being transformed into precious, sparkling diamonds!
For that is definitely the wellspring you seem to be drawing from as you write your poetry. It is really commendable and laudable on your part that you have allowed yourself to search and discover this abiding love in spite of..., and have come to express it through your poems so eloquently, the pain and the joy.
Now, I hope this poem's title is prescient and indicative that you are indeed moving on. For in one above, "Brokenheart," I believe you seem to still be desiring to want someone who has played with love like some kinda game or someone like him. Why, pray tell? For love is meant to be so much more than a mere game where someone eventually has to either win or lose. You and your wonderful heart deserve so much more than this. So try to be patient and hold out for the kind of guy who can actually give you the kind of love you write about in your classic "Before you...," as you truly deserve nothing less! Keep the faith keep and keep on expressing yourself through your poetry!
Namaste,
Jazzy
Sorry Kiki, that somewhat classical poem of yours that I've been referring to is of course "More than I did before." --- Jazzy
