A Very Brief Auto-Biography

Hi...I'm a new voice here today, so I thought I would share something I wrote one night as an explanation for when people ask why I am no longer a theatre major...It helps understand me a little (an all around futile activity).

A Very Brief Autobiography

“O, give me a stage
and a welcoming crowd
and I’ll give you a happy creation
be it sonnet or play
or rock concert loud,
comedy or recitation;
for nothing in life
can compare to the bows
before a tumultuous ovation.”

Such were the thoughts
of a wandering girl
as she waltzed on her merry way
while thinking that she
might give acting a whirl-
to Hell with what cynics might say.
And off she went
with her banners unfurled
To greet warmly the oncoming day.

But when she arrived
it was easy to see
things were not just as she had thought
there was back-stabbing,
cruelty, and horrible glee
amongst those who would claw to the top;
and she chose to retreat,
“Many things I may be-
but cruel I simply am not.

I have known too much love-
And if I use a knife
It won’t be in the back of a friend.”
So now she looks on
to a gentler life
to be back amidst kindness again
Farewell to the stage…
but farewell to the strife
it’s a worthy exchange in the end.

Hi, I am on a many years long hunt for the poems "Old Man Mountain" and "The Bells of San Gabriel" (sp?) If you have any idea who these are by or where I might find them, please let me know.

Yikes! I had no idea the world of acting was so much like... um... well, the world, I guess.

Hello you.
Please give details on your experiences. I want to earn money with biz in classical music and try to cope with the famae (Gerüchte) around constant intrigues. Can you help or advise me?
siren.
