Trifles

Minor Details before the Weekend

The child’s cry
The airplane
Outside
The sky
The apartment door
Tangent
To the formulation of the day

The taste of burnt pancakes
Between false teeth
Close
To the origin
Of the specific

The rudder
Of noise
Beneath the kettle
Fire
Seeking metal
The penetration of morning

The dull emptiness
Beyond
The window
Holding out
Holding in
Winter’s errant fly
How long can he last without food or water?

Peter I like the way the stanzas sparsity reflects the subject matter of this poem.
