I wish I were a cardboard doll,
Then you could make and shape me
dress me up, make me beautiful and sweet
loving, kind and polite
I wish I were a paper doll
had no emotions and no soul
You matter, others like you but not me
Then why not belong to you entirely?
I wish I were a cardboard doll
Without tears, feelings, heart and soul
You could tell me what to say and do
And I would be happy pleasing you
Nicely done, MG, I think this is one of your best efforts. Keep writing.
Les
Les, thank you for reading and for the encouragement! I appreciate it.
"I am a Rock.
I am an Island."
although your poem expressed more pathos.
Thanks for reading and commenting Peter
