The clock

If the clock had thoughts it would be my enemy.

For who knows Time's walk through that park better?

None.

And the clock is time's best friend. His spotlight...

But also his conscience's devil, his fiend.

Perched on his shoulder, The clock persuades the old man's pace to quicken when I am content.

This demon lets me not revel in the peace.

His evil suggestions not once let me drown in sleep's teasing fleece.

(Why cant i sleep forever?)

Only when paralyzed by pain, fear, and all else that maims...

Time is stricken by the clock, slowed, betrayed.

The wickedness laughs at us...chuckling at our annoyance.....

The damned clock should be flogged, executed...

So (then) Time's walk may be eternal, and my happimess be less dilluted.

-with love
