Resonance of Voices

Three thousand mile sound box
Left empty from Boise to Alameda,
Latter day resemblances of
Telephone telephone the morning mail
The kaleidoscope finally rearranged in the morning fog,
Kilometers of lilac scent
Outside Ohio without remorse,
Blowing silent into probability --
Though the promised witch
Embracing me in the shiver of right now again,
Will not take the late train to Ann Arbor.
I will not turn my head from volcanoes, altar, petti-privilege –
Aleatory till wistful,
For Marcuse and Bruno
Beneath the light of one more astrologer hung
In the backyards of silence –
Listen to fish singing to the noonday sun.

Interesting collage here Peter, I like many of the images you bring to mind.

Thanks, Les.

I wrote it while I was listening to a recording of Allen Ginsberg read "Howl' and other poems at Reed College in 1956...thinking how much I like that poem.

cheers,

Peter

I suppose your enjoying "Howl" is like my listening to "Ticket to Ride". There's nothing quite like the oldies.
