Fifteen Snakes and a Kangaroo
She had some weird pets.
Mind you, I'm not averse to a cat or two,
but the piranha and constrictors really turned me off.
She told me she was into ecology.
I said, "Fine, let's watch it from a distance."
" No one else will care if we don't, " she chided.
"Yeah, well I care," I said," but I don't see myself
as the Mother Teresa of the animal kingdom."
"But, how can you just turn your back on all
these animals?" she pleaded.
"I can't!" I said," That's the problem.
Would the world really be worse off with fewer snakes?"
"How can you think like that?" she said.
"Easy," I said, " has anyone in a million years
ever missed the dinosaurs? What's a few
dead snakes among friends?"
"I don't think I could ever live with
someone with as little sensitivity as
you have toward the animal world!"
she stormed. "OK, fine!" I said.
Give me a warm cup of coffee in the morning,
a cold beer in the afternoon,
a hot game on the TV at night,
and a room devoid of reptiles any time.

I'm with you a 100% on this one Les. I do like my coffee hot, though.

Nice piece of work, Les. My sentiment re: animules being beside the point.
Cheers,
Peter
Joe, thanks for reading and commenting. A hot cup of coffee does sound good in this weather.
Peter, thanks, mules are better than snakes any day.
