On Ted’s At-bat

In the stands
When he was at bat,
With each pitch,
Ted Williams
Made the seven and a half
Year old believe
He would hit:
Made him believe the hit
Could be a home run
Each and every pitch
And he would wonder
If Billy Consolo or Billy Klaus
Or Jacky Jensen or
Jimmy Piersal
Could get on base
Or score
On Ted’s at-bat.

The beauty of sports, Pete, is that it makes us believe our heroes can win them all. Nicely done.

Thanks, Les.

Sometimes I feel that about life itself - but then I feel like a megalomaniac, instead of an ordinary maniac.

p.s.,

Every time this site refuses to let me in, it destroys my concentration so much I feel like not coming back. But that is what we get, I guess, for clinging to an abandoned ship.

Cheers
