One Penny to the Pile
The experiences, one at a time, always
One at a time, the disasters of today
Around which the world is arranged
In imitation of organization
That will last longer than the insight
Of the most insightful journalist
On the run from the thought police and
The policies of persons who are not persons at all
Or from the Gulf to Iceland and the far reaches
Of Australia where the cities retain
Palaces to Opera, and the lilt of the dialect
Maintains the commonplace logic of
Hume and those northern philosophers
Who gathered round stone monuments
Of experiences, one at a time,
Turning back the Oxford internment
Of principle as the bastion of reason itself.

A finely tuned cerebral write Peter. Your inner light shines with lazer
like accuracy on the nuanced truth that expands beyond between the lines. tom
Thanks, tom. I must admit when I was trying to decide if I wanted to read this in public I found its rhetoric a little too convoluted to subject an audience to. I am really harsh on myself these days and have found very little I've written the last two months worth repeating.
On another note, I am very pleased to see you responding on the forum board again. I actually felt a loss when you stopped posting poems, even though I was one of the people who bitched that you were too prolific.
Be well,
Peter
