She came to visit,
For a while,
And her wing brushed my heart,
When the snows came,
Flakes falling soft upon the ground,
She held me then,
Fierce and tight,
Within the softness of her arms,
And I was wrapped in angel down,
Safe, and warm within her wings.

A nice warm feeling, good read Paul.

A good read, Paul. I'm not sure just what all you edited after posting, but I think I preferred the read without breaking it into stanzas.
Anyway, as Les said, it gives off a nice warm feeling when reading. I like the duality of the title which offers the right amount of angst to keep this mostly a "better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" message. Along with the word choice, "fierce", in S2L2 (which for only a split second gave me cause for pause), I find you've done a great job of interjecting just enough to make this neither a glass half empty nor half full.
Again, I liked this.
