When you look in my eyes
I could swear you see everything I'm trying to hide inside
Straight through to my heart to the deepest part
What's strange is that I feel the same
Through all your shame
I still see you that way
When I look in your eyes
I see through the ice, through all your lies
To the very core of your soul
No matter how hard you try to put on a show
I still know you
Still can look through all the camouflage, past all the flaws
And see who you are
I don't really know what I can do if all this were true
It wouldn't change anything between me and you
I just wondered if you knew

I liked this quite a bit.
last line:
I just wonder if you knew
or
I just wonder if you know
or
I just wondered if you knew
alternatives.
cheers,
Peter
Thanks I actually really liked your last suggestion the best...i didn't like the last line when i wrote it but i couldn't figure out the right way to write it. Thanks
you're the poet...I'm just your audience.
cheers,
Peter
I really like this poem. The thought that someone I love can really do that, see through me that way I mean, scares me quite a bit. Well put.
thank you
As they say, "to know you is to love you". Nice poem, kitty.
