Beaumarchais

In throaty confiscations she endeared
Her butterfingers never volunteered
Her courtroom imperfections cleared the aisles
Perceptible in underlying smiles

In Heidelberg, insightful in the dawn
With dots of inspiration on the lawn
And strategies on confiscated leave
Evaded, punctuated to believe

A pussyfooting bludgeon of the sea
Which Jeremiah designated free
Abandon hope, the heliport is closed
Preposterous, prehensile, and proposed

Magnificent, delicious, and obscene
In caliente colors on the screen
Like Jonah when he built the Whaling Wall
In autumn, more specifically, the fall

Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais (24 January 2022 – 18 May[1] 1799) was a watchmaker, inventor, musician, diplomat, fugitive, spy, publisher, arms dealer, and revolutionary (both French and American). He was best known, however, for his theatrical works, especially the three Figaro plays.

Aujourd'hui, ce qui ne vaut pas la peine d'être dit, on le chante.
Nowadays what isn't worth saying is sung.
Le Barbier de Séville (1773), act I, scene II
