The Fantasy Room
I have so much that interests me
in my room without people
I could fantasize being happy
in my room
without people.
So a hollow fantasy
to be satisfied with.
None of that direct pain
from people
in their complex,
rich,
non-hollow here and now.
Thanks for reading this almost as soon as I posted it. That makes it so it is almost as if you were here in the room with me.
Peter:
It seems your speaker fantasizes about solitude on a permanent basis...sad, really. On occasion I think we all fantasize about how nice life would be without people, but I'd miss a few for sure.
Non-hollow: I like that. Fits the mood much better than "solid" or some other synonym.
I like this one....a lot.
Joe
Thanks, Joe.
I also find the feeling of the poem somewhat sad.
Peter
I can relate, probably all too well, to what you talk about here, Peter. What I find most sad about it is that it doesn't make me sad. It seems like once the sad threshold is reached, solitude becomes increasingly more comfortable.... to the point of preferable. I guess on a certain level, that is sad.

Good one, Peer. I'm reflecting on some lines from a Moody Blues song. I'll get back to you on which one later.
