The Porch in Ten
I did not fail to notice
that you carried a platter
down your steps
to the porch for us.
Two flights
and one landing,
it was not without
thought, thoughtless.
An eclectic array--
yellow cups with flowers
and the little pitcher
that held the cream.
The summer days,
you and your coffee press,
you and me
on the porch in ten.
I did not fail to notice.
Mary:
A fond memory nicely captured.

Another good one, Mary, I enjoyed the read. Keep writing.
Les
this is romantic. I like it~
Thanks, Les. I'm hoping to.
Glad you liked, Sherry. Thanks.
Mary
Mary,
I liked the touches of irony and distance in this that keep it from being sentimental fluff. Good work.
Peter
Thank you, Peter.
Mary
I really enjoyed the read (and I completely agree with Peter's comment).
Thanks, Flood.
very sweet in sentiment, and flirtateous, almost like the batting of eyelashes.
Marflow
Thanks for the feedback, Marflow. I had to smile at your comments. When heading into the "golden" years, the notion of romance is enough to serendipitously bring on the batting of one's eyelashes!
