Vicky's September Wedding.

Her dream takes flight,
In ivory white,
Down along the aisle,
Taffeta veil,
And silken trail,
And her perfect Golden shoes.
She floats, heart sings,
Her feet have wings,
And lift her up so very high,
Stardust, on her feet,
To at altar meet,
Flying in her Golden shoes.

He waits there ahead,
Her fear has fled,
She's all filled up with hope,
Her heart full of sun,
For this man she's won,
Trippin' on her Jimmy Choo's,
Now he takes her hand,
She's with her man,
Wedding ring shines in her eyes,
Then, upon her hand,
A golden band,
Dancing in her Golden shoes

So the bouquet flies,
She closes her eyes,
Remembering how she'd dreamed,
Of being happy this way
On her wedding day,
And of her beautiful Golden shoes.
For she'd waited so long,
For this heart song,
To fill up her life with light,
And take this chance,
To begin this dance,
Waltzing in her Golden shoes.

And so it is, eyes meet,
Hearts like drums beat,
And feet not touching the ground,
She turns to go,
With her man Joe,
And her wonderful....
beautiful...
perfect..
Golden
shoes.

I love the way you taper the last stanza. It so captures the inevitability that is marriage!

Obviously the rest is cliched nonsense, but what the hell!
