Show me the way to go home little darling,
I am tired and I want to go to bed.
Had a little drink about an hour ago,
And its gone right to my head.
Do you remember those days
When we used to play
All day out in the rain?
Would you smile or frown
To know that I am still around
Drowning in this small town?
Would you scream or cry
To know that I am just fine
With silent goodbyes?
Show me the way to go home little darling,
I am tired and I want to go to bed.
Had a little drink about an hour ago,
And its gone right to my head.
And Its Gone Right To My Head
And Its Gone Right To My Head Now
Do you remember the times
When we would unwind
And take a load off our minds?
Would you sigh or shout
To know what I'm all about
And the shit I could live without?
Would you stay or go
If I were to show you
All the things I know?
Show me the way to go home little darling,
I am tired and I want to go to bed.
Had a little drink about an hour ago,
And its gone right to my head.
And Its Gone Right To My Head
And Its Gone Right To My Head Now

Welcome to the mule.
I enjoyed the read Sensi, welcome aboard.

Sensi Star,
Yes, I remember the little ditty you use for refrain, and i feel the pathos of the lonely drunk, and the feeling sorry of yourself [myself], taking the rain personally and wishing someone else would take me more personally singing my drunken song.
Thanks for making me feel bad. Nice work.
Cheers,
Peter
Thank you guys for the warm welcome. I am not new to the site, and have visited a couple times looking for inspiration, or a good read. I have enjoyed many poems from this form, so I figured I should register and maybe contribute a line or two.
The more the merrier, make a fool of yourself, we do all the time.
