We Know The Price Our Children Pay

While great imposters play their game
upon this crusted earthen field
we are seduced in shame by fame
that leaves no mark of lasting yield.

We have detached from our demands
as if we never had a choice.
A world immersed in hurtful hands
because we lost collective voice.

Let's coalesce with courage now
to crucify these caustic days
as battles will be won somehow,
when seeds of need reveal the ways.

And I believe we shall receive
our greater purpose with our pride;
we'll topple those who do deceive
as we the people then decide.

The vice of vile corruption seems
to permeate man's vital core!
Indecent dark and deadly schemes
have worked their way inside to war.

We know the price our children pay
for pompous pirates of pure greed;
with war it seems to stay that way
as children always seem to bleed.

Then all must share to some degree
the pain of man so damn diseased
and claim responsibility
for evil ways we have appeased.

And each new dawn must bring new hope
of better things to one day come
for we can never hope to cope
'till tyrants 'round this world succumb.
