At the End of the Week

While I perform on the stage, looking back
you watch me with a grin
still my heart beats lazy, my voice sings softly
these words sung for you

While I pause for the chord, smiling down
you listen with a nod
still my heart beats lazy, my voice sings softly
this song written for you

While I fiddle with the timing, laughing quiet
you understand my unease
still my heart beats lazy, my voice sings softly
and continue I do for you

While I stand at the ending, shrugging gently
you cheer across from me
still my heart beats lazy, my voice sings softly
of this my love for you

While we leave alone together, huddled closely
you kiss my cheek
my heart beats ever quicker, my voice lost altogether
forever better because of you

A good read Lennon, soft and warm.

I'm surprised no one else had any comments on this, since there are so many musically inclined people in this forum.

The piece speaks nicely for itself. Good read, Lennon.

Thanks, all, for these kind replies. Oh, if only I could sing as well as I would like tongue sticking out smiley
