The woods are calling
for rain...
and me.
It's time, once again
to leave winter behind
and seek solace
amongst the pines;
Where the sounds of waves
that rush ashore
repeat in whispers,
"Evermore"...
Where in the fire's flame
I'll find,
the yellowed blues and greens
of time;
And heat that melts
the winter's frost,
recapturing passions
long since lost...
It's time, once again
to breathe the air,
though in my breath
I'll see you there
Amongst what is
and wasn't mine...
Upon the waves,
amongst the pines.

Me too - thanks Mary, I really like this one
Appreciated, Les. Not sure there'll be much else on the horizon anytime soon, but you never know.
aaron, glad you liked. I'm getting anxious for the first camping trip of the season, but with Memorial Day coming early this year...it may be a chilly one.

I too miss the piny-wood hills.
Peter

Mary:
I just can't resist a good rhyming poem. Nicely done.

Thanks Peter, Terry, & Joe. I had a good dose of the woods this weekend. It was great fun, despite shivering me timbers! 45 degree nights do much to make one appreciate a roaring campfire and propane.

"in the pines, in the pines, where the sun don't ever shine, I'll be there, the whole night through"
Good one Mary. A familiar feeling about a part of the world I cherish. The north woods shores are very special, and you paint them beautifully.
I guess I'm back like the sounds among the summer pines too.
Steve
Thanks for visiting, Johnny.
