tom,

"to rattle every Yankee brain"... so sad. so sad. Every street kid from Boston to Littleton to the Bronx is your compatriot.

...the life of America is to lean toward the future, not to hearken back to a bitter past. When I went cross-country with my wife for our honey moon, I found brothers and sisters in every state we stopped. My patriotism lives in a friendship with the people I have met throughout my 64 years on earth.

shalom,

Peter

Every street kid from Boston to Littleton to the Bronx is your compatriot.

...and Jersey City, too.

Tom, this is sad and true as sin. My opinion is that the opening stanzas are stronger than the later ones, but that's just one reader's opinion.

And mine also Peter. I am in love with the American people and their
unprecedented kindness and tolerance. Traveling the country is the greatest
way to experience that love. Thanks Pete. tom

I think you are right Les. I got a little to wrapped up in the
character development at the end. But as Wilde said, a poem is
never finished just rearranged. lol. Thanks. tom

Tom, Here's my response to Terry on my thread. It pertains to how much space you take on the board.

amo,

Peter

Merc,

re: Tom pushing people off. I figure he's old enough to be able to know that he is doing that and that it is not fair to all those who only post once in a while. I guess, Terry, that your mentioning to me is sufficient to motivate me to say something to him. As an anarchist, I'm sure you know how much I hate being anyone else's cop or daddy or conscience, but I will take on the task.

Thanks for stopping by to read the poem.

amo,

Peter
