Betokens

An interpersonal affront
And we are left with a moraine

He never said you weren’t quaint
And I ain’t never said that too

So in compliance with the rule
We’re ostentatious and austere

Til we relinquish all control
And ship it out with all the freight

To quote a great politician.

What I said may not be what you heard...or not.

Good to see your name on the board, Johnny.

Thanks Les

I'll try to post something of a more complex nature in the near future

That would be good Johnny.. We need to stretch our minds. Or maybe only the upper lips.

I believe those are bottom lippers Johnny, I don't mean to speak for 210, but I think he's talking about our toothless British pals, who couldn't cut loose if they had 3 pairs of scissors.

Nigel: "I say, Trevor, rather beastly weather we're having, what?"
Trevor: "Quite."

It's good to see you back, Johnny. You seemed to have disappeared for a while.

This fine composition of yours highlights the sad lowlights of my country's politics with such intuition that I will refrain from wrestling with an analysis of it lest I despond deeper into a quicksand under rubble.

Les, are you making a pun on "pollies"?

Indeed, Les.

Or to quote another great politician* "When you're going through hell, keep going !"

To use the jargon of a sport** that cheered Australia during the great depression of the 20th Century, I see you have been reading the pitch well lately, and playing some sparkling forward drives. Goodonya mate!

With Johnny above, I exercised my countrymen's constitutional right to stay alive and well and living upside down by bending over backwards to mix understatement with hyperbole while keeping tongue in cheek.

Johnny, I am going to run back to the "hospital" for three or four days
but don't think it has anything to do with the brilliance of your poetic,
nah, it is just me Johnny who needs some Dr. Spock put in my cock but I
will reuturn. Great writing once again and I missed you Johnny. And I second
whatever Ian said, truly, I second it. tom

Thanks Peter, I suppose that not posting every fool thing that pops in my head, and letting things distill somewhat, has had an effect

Perhaps. Perhaps it is fermenting. Perhaps it gets distilled. Perhaps we're all just getting high on your words.

cheers,

Peter
