An exquisite little poem, Tom. One grammatical note, though:

The possessive, "Bodhisattva's smile" is incorrect, if you are employeing "smile" here as a noun (which I am assuming). "The Bodhisattva smiles at nature's perfect song," or, The Bodhisattvas smile at nature's perfect song," would be better.

(Sorry for the anal-retentive nit-picking, but sometimes I just can't help myself).

Joe

One baby cries
All women wake

nice, Tom.

Wouldn't the possessive rather be correct if he was employing "smile" as a noun, Joe, but not as a verb?

Mary

See, I can find brevity though not often. lol.
I made it easy on myself and reduced the number
of Bodhisattvas to just one dude in this village
which actually fits better because very few enlightened
Nirvanic entities want to stay down here and help out.
Thanks Joe for getting me straight. I got the name
easy for good reason. tom

Hi Mary and I thank you for the nice review
and I think I have the grammatical conundrum
removed by stealth and sloth. Thanks again. tom

I like the perfect country and western song:

"WELL, I WAS DRUNK THE DAY MY MOM GOT OUT OF PRISON
AND I WENT TO PICK HER UP IN THE RAIN
BUT BEFORE I COULD GET TO THE STATION IN MY PICKUP TRUCK
SHE GOT RUNNED OVER BY A DAMNED OLD TRAIN"

Your's is probably nicer at tea parties... but ya gotta admit there is a certain flair to mine.

Lessseeeee.. the bodhisattva's vow is not the same one I took back in '68

"I swear by my life and my love of that life that I shall never live one moment of my life solely for the sake of another human being, and by that self same love of life, I shall never allow another human being to live one moment of their lives for me."

ergo, why would they smile at all?

Hey Merc, those Nirvanic beings crack me up all the time.
Natural wits, laughing and joking; never knew where the
idea that Buddhists even the enlightened ones, have no sense
of humor. Try and find a pic. of the Dali Lama when he is
not giggling. Of course in his case it could be a tic. LOL. t

Tom, Here's my response to Terry on my thread. It pertains to how much space you take on the board.

amo,

Peter

Merc,

re: Tom pushing people off. I figure he's old enough to be able to know that he is doing that and that it is not fair to all those who only post once in a while. I guess, Terry, that your mentioning to me is sufficient to motivate me to say something to him. As an anarchist, I'm sure you know how much I hate being anyone else's cop or daddy or conscience, but I will take on the task.

Thanks for stopping by to read the poem.

amo,

Peter
