A Star Spangled Nightmare

I

Not with a dream for the wind to take away
And not with a yesterday to hem him in,
He was waiting for everybody to go by.
He thoroughly intended to stop.

II

When I use a word from another poem,
I understand what can hold him back.
He waits for aether, passion, ease.
Unity comes from within.

III

With the impetus from the noise on the street
Of some other leaf falling to the ground
Or of a woman knowing her desire, strength,
The way machetes its own way.

Coda

The path makes itself, coupling
With accident and fertility.
Nothing gets itself nothing

I enjoyed this one Peter. I'll bump some more poems to the top later on today.
