I know a boy
with the sweetest eyes
dark and sad
tender and overwhelmed
by his own compassion
he smiles, shyly
with his mouth closed
and looks down nervously
because he doesn't realize
that he is beautiful
he collides with emotions
and wrestles intently
with past transgressions
while self contrived disappointments
warn him not to hope again
still, the wind blows as he walks
and the world bends
and gives way to him
because he shows it
so much grace
and life buds again, fresh
unfolding before his eyes
filled with so much promise
that he starts to believe
that it is time to live again
I watch him from a distance
curiously progressing with caution
while I'm cheering from the stands
as he gently eases
his way back in to faith

Frosty:
A sensitive portrait, indeed. I admire both your powers of observation and your ability to transform them into inspiring poetry.
