Chronicles of an Insomniac

Conflicting schedules never allowed us to meet
Although we yearned for each other ‘neath patched blankets with the moon peering in
Each encounter, short, sweet left me longing for you
Your intoxicating lucid dreams, your nostalgic visions of the past
My eyes have grown weary, tiresome and teary
Your touch has faded off my lids
I seek the embrace of someone else
But no one unhinges me much like you do
Hey Mr. Sandman
Bring me a dream
To tame my broken spirit
Please Mr. Sandman
Bring me a dream
Now is my time to sleep
