Reach out both hands
Will you take both my hands?
We had been unfriendly toward each other for a long time.
We argue we fight like no days and end?
We really don’t care; other hurt and sees other in pain!
We haven’t give a thought to each other indifferent
Open to understand, open to accepting other cultural
Way of life believe and ethnic.
Reach out both hands
Will you take both my hand? Will you give me a hugs?
Will you love me as who we are?
Does it together reach out both hands! Does it together hugging
Each other! Mean it together we love each other.
For Peace and Peace be with us, to you, my friends, and to my neighbour
To my brothers and my sister and throughout theworld
Reach out both hands.
Reach out: See
I look forward to the poems you will be writing in a year or two. The sentiment you share and your current use of English now show complexity and originality. We have another writer in this forum whose initial poems used clumsy, ungrammatical structures and odd word choice for over a year, when she first visited the forum. But now some of her postings are among the most beautiful, sensitive expressions of her emotions and understanding.
Keep at it, theworld2,
Peter
thank you, peter
Clumsy, ungrammatical structures and odd word choice are a mainstay of my writing.
Don't knock it !
thank you, for yuor honesty. if you don't mind what you think need to be change?
One thing he thinks needs changing is my attitude. I don't agree with that part.
I do agree with the smoothness of your writing.
What is your first language?
Thank you, merc,
My first my parent this Cantonese and my national language is Malay. I learn Malay in school.
I really don’t have much in English education. but writing help me improve a lot. That how I feel before I can’t even writes a letter.
Thank again. Reach out a big hugs to you all.
Your meaning is clear, I have no trouble understanding what you are trying to convey
you need to study plurals and tenses, otherwise, you seem to be progressing nicely
Your English is somewhat better than my Cantonese, and a whole bunch better than my Malay.
In Mexico I have been told I speak perfect English using Spanish words, and in the US I have been told I should learn a language of somekind.
I is fluent in Cowboy.... ask Mitts.

hi johnnyboy, thank again for your honesty. ok
i try to learn more plurals. but it plurals mean?
I sorta have to care what US folks think to a small extent. As much as I care what anyone thinks... Peter, want to comment? I am a US citizen and my residence is in the little known state of New Mexico. I have property in Mexico and do spend a lot of working vacations there.
rule #1. Re: Merc and Johnny,, believe nothing they tell you and only one half of what you actually see them do.
Bienvenidos.
Merc: 'I sorta have to care what US folks think to a small extent. As much as I care what anyone thinks... Peter, want to comment?'
World2: 'but i do learn it myself. reach out and we all find peace and happiness'
Well, I speak a couple phrases in a bunch of languages...mostly book-learning. I love it that all languages interact with other languages.
I taught grammar and writing most of my professional life.
I find it is mainly non-professional linguists who comment on other people's grammar in social situations.
I taught my students that the general public and business associates often dismiss your thinking if your language isn't flawless...their language snobbery...but often they hold the strings to whether you get the job, keep the job, feed your family, etc.
As a poet, I want everything 'right'...if you are writing in dialect, I want the sound perfect, seamless. If you're being creative, I want your creativity to add to the piece, not just be a distraction. If you are trying to writing standard English [and here in the United States, there really isn't a standard English, as they claim there is in the UK], every deviance should be intentional, on purpose, in order to produce an effect you might at least be yourself aware of.
For example, I end sentences in prepositions, like 'of'. I actually wrote a scholarly piece on the absence of prepositions in English, titled 'at fre chois of Autoris,' tracing the idea that 19th Century grammarians railing against ending sentences in prepositions were ignoring the history of the language by importing standards that only properly apply to Latin grammar, not the language that grew out of Langland, Chaucer, Shakespeare and the King James Bible, as well as theologians like Wycliffe.
So, World2 can logically choose the dialect and the degree of 'correctness' he/she wishes to use in his/her poems, but the audience to the poem can also choose the language it will accept in the poem.
amo,
Peter

"Will you take both my hand"
should be
Will you take both my hands, because you are using the word "both" in the sentence.
If you didn't have the word "both", then you could have said Will you take my hand (one hand), or Will you take my hands (two hands)
"Will you give me a hugs" since you use the word "a", it is singular, so you'd say, Will you give me a hug"
Again, if the word "a" was not there, you could have said Will you give me hugs
If you wanted it plural, you could say, Will you give me some hugs
Pete, my favorite you ask,,,, why of course I'll tell you..
"What did you bring up that book that I don't want to be read to out of up for?"

Terry's quote is perfectly understandable, and therefore acceptable
Understandability's a good criterion sometimes.
