A LADY
A lady is here in my life and it's good to see my fair-skinned goddess
shimmering in the moonlight.
What delights she brings me for indeed I find her irresistible
and her touch a thrill that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
When I hold her in my arms the feel is so real as my heart sings a joyful song.
I know no doubts that this woman touches me deeply and I shall want her always.
As we walk this life together there will be a love that cannot be broken
and it will guide us through whatever trials that shall be laid before us.
As we walk this path that has been given to us all I have to do
to find the comfort that I will need is to reach out and touch her hand.
Bands of angels guard us from harm and it will be
forever that her kisses will give me the strength to take
whatever steps there are to be taken in my life..
Really nice, GW.

hey nice poem
"When I hold her in my arms the feel is so real as my heart sings a joyful song. "
I miss that. Hoping to feel that way again after I rip off the band-aid.
GW I got nothing against you OK? Spent a lot of time in Idaho maownself. Drove over the road until I wanted to puke. We actually have quite a bit in common. Boise ain't one of them.. far too big. Like what you write that I've read.
Having laid that peaceful groundwork,, anyone here got a problem with GW commerializing this site? Every posting has a method to getting to purchase his book.
Why should I buy poems when I can write my own?
yes merc. i feel a little used.
I wouldn't mind so much if the poems were really good. Those I've read so far are fairly pedestrian, using almost no poetic devices and with little originality.

No one's putting a poetic device to your head and saying Buy Buy Buy, now, are they?
I only buy from pedestrian poets who write verse while crossing the street.

I'm not allowed to cross the street in the middle in the middle in the middle of the block
Some movie trailers serve the useful purpose of showing me that the movie promoted is not the kind that I would enjoy.

I'm not allowed to cross the street in the middle in the middle in the middle...
It’s a muddle in the middle.
Like some tarradiddle riddle,
'Twill befuddle those who toddle.
It’s no doddle if you dawdle.
You can’t widdle when you waddle
Though there’s piddle in a puddle
Where a poodle stood astraddle.
So have done with fiddle faddle.
No more twaddle. Best skedaddle.

I guess it was primarily a New York metro area thing awhile back. For those who never had the pleasure, you can hear what you missed here:

Ian, I actually thought of Poe when I read your comment.
"In the icy air of night, how they tinkle with delight"
My darling spouse has a friend named Lenora, who again incites Poe.
singing now "Ahhhhmmmm jus' a Poe boy..."
There you go again, Terry, using any exccuse to tintinnabulate....better watch it or you'll need glasses soon.
