When time crawls and darkness creeps,
hope withered and all else seems bleak;
"on my knees I will pray for you my friend."
When words are lost and breath seems stilled,
your prayers unanswered and unfulfilled;
"in vesper's vows, I pray with you."
When Caesar takes all your daily wheat,
your fields are barren with naught to keep;
"I will pray for the drought to end."
When memory slips into the quietude of night
and the sand is washed betwixt wrong and might;
"you'll have prayed for my soul too."
And when dawn arises in it's thousandfold glory
and we are faced with blank history;
"then we'll be rewarded God's dividends."

cough
A good one, Bruce, faith does help heal wounds.
Les
I'm with Les on this, although I'm not a fan of "betwixt." I think "between" would do just as nicely.
Joe
I'm caught betwixt "between" and "amid".
I wonder how God feels about mecernarys. I know how at least one feels about Him. I've pented once, now it's time to repent.
Oh Bruce, stay warm up there in the near Arctic. and keep writing. You're good at it.
Hey Percival, you should give Buckley's a try for that cough of yours. lol.
Les,
I agree, but it can also be very divisive, although I really don't understand why.
Joe,
I changed it from between to betwixt to make the words quietude and naught stand out less. I'll give it a review and see if I was wrong in my judgement.
Terry,
Amid might be a nice compromise, thank you. Personally I think that God gives back whatever we put in, so I think you are going to be just fine there Terry. :0)
Speaking of arctic; the front finally reached us. I haven't been out dog sledding once yet this year, because the snow just keeps melting. I have about a foot in the back yard now, but that only arrived last week when 16" fell in two nights, but it has been melting over the last week and large sections of the city are still bare. Starting tomorrow though the deep freeze will set in. We have a low of -16 c here tonight (5 f) and by Monday it will be -30 c (-22 f) and that should hold through most of what is left of December and into January, so I should be out dog sledding soon.
Thankfully my inspiration seems to finally be back again after a horrendous dry spell, so you will most likely be hearing from me a bit more in the passing months.
Take care all and have a Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan or any other holy day you happen to observe. :0)

Or maybe some of that medicine you're fighting for? =]
