my secret baptism

my secret baptism~

waves of you flood across me
overtaking- silent resonance
cycling throughout my body
at higher frequencies
than I’ve ever dared imagine

you say you see Christ in me
and because you do, I see Him in you
somehow able to overlook my imperfections
and just see me as beautiful
because I’m through your eyes

pirouetting through my days
saved by your grace
private,personal -uplifted and secured,
in the stronghold of your faith
that we have found redemption

It all sounds fantastic, but be prepared to be mugged by reality if you have children.

I really like the poem, Sherry, and can relate to being uplifted by another human being.

I have come to believe that much goes on around us on another level...in another realm...in the spiritual world. And that God, the spirits, a higher power, or however you want to name it...reveal things to us and help us along in so many different ways. Often other people are the vessels. We just have to be careful not to worship the other person or put all our faith into the vessel. In other words, give credit where the credit is due. Otherwise, we'll fall hard or lose faith when it turns out the other person is just like the rest of us, human and fallible.

I'm pretty impressed that you can spell "pirouetting" correctly.

What Marty sez, I firmly believe ALL prayers are answered. Sometime He says, "OK" sometimes, "No" and sometimes, "Wait a while, I have a better idea" If the answer must come in the form of verbs, He's not gonna open the heavens and tell you, "NO!" He's going to send someone else who will have the answer you are looking for.

Adore the vessel? Pappy Boyington said, "Show me a hero, I'll prove he's a bum"

Ian, you made me laugh...

Marty, I am happy you enjoyed the poem and I have to say, that I believe that it is our human condition and our ability to make mistakes that is beloved and our own and God's ability to apply forgiveness that is divine.

Merc, thanks for the spelling props. I also believe prayers are answered-just not always in the ways we are expecting. That's what keeps life exciting-the mighty unknown. Hero or bum....it's all about perspective. I think when our hearts are open to see the best in our world, and we are looking for it, we often (not always) find the best...and if we look for the worst, of course, the same will happen. I'm personally on a mission for joy.

thanks for all the discussion, people!

Sherry
