seeking equilibrium
too far forward
listing toward port
seeking equilibrium
tangential implications
redress of errors
leading to a smile
heartbreak and hula
rhythmic remedies
finding a fork
sunsets in Bali
volcanic romance
breakfast at one

sunshine moments
tape replays forever
wayback conclusions
minor contusions
love in the albums
leaning toward center
a bubble off plumb
everlasting connections
a Pisaic matrix

Les,
[1] Do you mean 'tangential'?
[2] Indian Place Names
Spelled in old deed 1687, Passick, 1688, Pisaic, 1718, Passaik; 1719, Passyock. The river was called by the Indians Pach-sa-jeck, which signified flowing ...

My thought was Pisa Italy, rather than Passaic New Jersey
Though i do like the sound of The Matrix of Passaic
The matrix of Passaic
And vectors of Bayonne
are rather algebraic
when they are left alone
Peter, thanks for reading and commenting, Johnny is correct it is Pisa, like the city: [upload.wikimedia.org] />
tangental is an antiquated form of tangential: [www.onelook.com] />
Johnny, thanks for stopping by and thanks for the verse, always a pleasure to see what springs from your pen/keyboard.

At this moment , LEss, if I go to a doctor s/he will give me a similar perscription!!
Nice work!
Thanks Khalida, glad to lift your spirits.

Heartbreak and Hula:
Sounds like the tag line for a previously unreleased Elvis movie, "Very Blue Hawaii."
Seriously, I like the juxtapositioning throughout.

I like the optimism despite the off kilterness. Very nice ending.
This reminds me of a place found to defy gravity (something to do with a fault line at some specific latitude and longitude) not far from me. They use a level to show the bubble being plumb center, yet two people of varying heights will appear the same height, people standing on flat ground will lean without falling etc.
Anyway, enjoyed the read, Les.
Mary
Joe, thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Mary, I've always been fascinated by those places that seem to defy the laws of nature. Thanks for your comments.
Les
this is by far my favorite of your poems so far, Les. Outstanding.
Les,
I suspect you have packed a lot of personal references and reminiscences into this one. It's a bit like a photo album metamorphosed into verse. Quite effective.
Your headline metaphor of yawing and correcting is an unusual one in such a context, but appropriate considering the innumerable mistakes we all make and try to redress in navigating life's course. I'm glad the process can sometimes lead to smiles.
I read 'Pisaic' as your invented adjective derived from the leaning Tower of Pisa. That structure is certainly an archetypal example of off-plumbness. If only it had the power to self- correct!

Frosty, thank you, I appreciate it.
Ian, thanks for your close reading as always. I enjoy hearing what others have to say about word choices and such.

A whirlwind of input with the recorder on Pause
bubbles forth through the froth and emerges from fog.
I've seen that the Manchurian candidate is not alone at the top.
Those voices we hear on CD's and cable are drowning us all
with visions of disaster that beckon us closer to the darkness and drear.
In just a few years there will come a great plague and natural disasters.
To the doubters it will seem like some sort of hoax
and the people will shout that we are all going through a trial of sorts.
But greater forces are at work than even they could imagine,
because the master destroyers have chosen this time
to perpetrate their evil and commit the perfect crime.
"To what purpose?", you may ask: I see it like this:
For power and glory and vengeance and greed, to smother us all
by destroying the righteous and promoting the few.
The new world order is not all that new, just different
in color and political bias, and all that we know and all that we prize
will soon disappear right before our own eyes.
Les
p.s. Have a nice day!
Les, I'd like to hear more about what you have to say on the subject which seems a different one than the original post...aside from the title (?).
Mary
Mary, this last bit of gibberish has nothing to do with the original post, it's merely my ruminations about politics and the media in today's society. Thanks for reading and commenting, though, I appreciate it. It's sort of a reaction to a few of Pete's poems, but I didn't want to distract from his work by posting it on one of his threads because it's not very closely related to his work in either form or substance.

Les, it doesn't take much to confuse me so thanks for the explanation. Your post was assuredly worthy of having its own thread, but I guess we sometimes don't think as much of our own writing as someone else might. ...and I have found Peter to be extraordinarily tolerant of ruminations on his threads .
Mary
I do have a hard time seeing very far into the future...expecially projections beyond a few seconds. Your thought are indeed interesting, reminding me of much ot the apocalyptic Christian literature I read before my metanoia.
Cheers,
Peter
P.s.,
I found your 'p.s.' particularly ironic.
