Slumber
Sleep, so gentle, so tender,
That it brims over my eyelids.
But NO –
I will not let slumber overwhelm me.
The land of sleep beckons
With its fantastic dreamlands.
Away from friends and foes,
Away from all my joys and anguish.
Here in the falling clouds of darkness,
I can lose myself.
And never fear, what others
Think or feel or do of me!
But the wondrous world of sleep
Is not for me.
I must stay awake –
To feel every twinge of happiness,
To wince at every throb of pain.
Walk through every flowering avenue of joy,
And journey through every dark wood of betrayal!
I will remain awake –
Through every moment
Of this life that I must live.
Good one, Sahana. It's great to stay awake as long as you do it naturally without artificial stimulants.

wise choice. always pick pain over being numb.
Revisiting some older works, great stuff in the vaults here.
