Your Soft Ghostly Voice

You are no longer here for me to lean on
The black chariot of death came and took you from me
A rare love is now totally gone
A union that was as true as could be.

Beyond the ocean of time and pain
You call to me from the land of the dead
Your sweet loving voice sounds the same
I will always cherish the things you said.

I am not afraid of your haunting voice
Calling my name softly as you were here
Between life and death you had no choice
When it comes to you I have no fear.

I visit religiously the place of your earthly remains
Crying, heart broken, feeling really down
I try everything I can to remain sane
I hear you softly call my name loving the sound.

Even the barrier between life and death can't keep you from me
Longing to kiss you and hold you tight
Of this I will always dream, you see
Your soft sweet voice will never give me a fright

I have not yet learned to read your poems. I see, always, that you are serious in your craft, and so I always want to encourage you to do more of it. I always think perhaps my Goth younger daughter might like your subject matter, excpt she seldom reads poetry, even mine.

forward,

Peter

lanaia74,

I've been reading your poetry since you began posting here. For the most part I find it both interesting and well written. However, I agree with Angelia in that I would like to see something other than the dark side. If that is all you do, that's fine by me...but I would like to see other types if possible.

I like this poem but also feel that you should more fully punctuate it or abandon the punctuation completely.

John
