I don't think there are any politically correct fairy tales.

I've seen lots of HUMOR pieces so called. There's a book of them called "Politically Correct Bedtime Stories: Modern Tales for Our Life and Times" that you can buy at stores, but they are not intended for children; they're intended to make adults laugh.

If you mean that you want children's books without racism, sexism, classism, etc., then I advise you to go to a bookstore with a big CHILDREN'S BOOKS section and start reading things, and decide which books have messages you do and do not approve of. I started reading children's books anew when my nephews were small, and found lots of wonderful ones and lots of appalling ones. Read "Horton Hatches the Egg" and decide for yourself whether it's modern-correct or retro-horrid. I read "Babar" and found it offensive to my environmental views. Just because a book was written recently and has a girl hero doesn't mean that YOU will want the message promoted to your own kid.

There is a recent trend to publishing children's stories from other cultures (I mean other than European), and you may find a kind of "correctness" emerges from sharing a great variety of stories.

Let me also say that the "un-correctness" of a story can be much less important than the parent-child conversation it triggers.

Thanks everyone for the help, the thing is I was asked to transform a fairy tale into a politically correct story and I'm finding it hard so I thought that if I could read other examples of such stories maybe I'd get some inspiration, I found a good version of the Little Red Riding Hood at [funnies.paco.to] maybe it will allow me to start writing.

There is a book called 'Sweeping Beauties: Fairy Tales for Feminists' by
Elaine Crowley and published by Attic Press, and another called 'Rapunzel's Revenge' I think by the same writer. Retellings of the old stories. Maybe they are what you are looking for.

I don't think we should ruin our children's vivid imaginations with political correctness. Leave that to our nation's leaders.......oh wait...
