Hello everyone
I'm desperately seeking a good poem (congratulatory) for a friend who has just had a baby girl. Help much appreciated.
Thanks !
Dear Beatrice,
I didn't think you had it in you
But when it all came out, it was
Your little Jeanie. How cute with her little pink thumb stuck in her mouth
With a complacent little sigh coming from the bassinet.
We've counted all her digits and everything seems to be in order.
Ed fixed up the back bedroom all in blue. Don't think Jeanie will notice the difference.
Gotta ask your mom to see if she can find some of that new baby formula that they are adverising on channel 37. Too bad you have chosen not to give Jeanie your mothers milk. All the doctors recommend it.
I knew you had this allergy thing for pollen, so didn't bring you any flowers.
However, did find my old copy of Dr. Spocks Baby Book, which I'll pass along to you to read. Might be able to pick up a few hints.
Since Ed just arrived, I'll leave you alone with him. See you around noon tomorrow.
Bye, bye, Helen.
Born Yesterday by Philip Larkin
I wouldn't recommend Dr. Spock.
What about Mr. Spock?
Mr. Spock would be ok. There's that "Live long and prosper" bit--not a bad thing to say to a newborn baby.
Thanks to all for writing in...
i would suggest Dr. Sears books, he is wonderful and he has everything in his numerous books from "the baby book" to "family nutrition"
excellent- check it out- i also found it really cheap(12$) on used books-online.
p.s. whjat happened to the baby poems????
