"The poet knows that he speaks adequately then only when he speaks sonewhat wildly." --to 'channel' 'into artistic activity.' [Barlett on Brother Anoninus (Wolliam Everson)].
What do you think wildly channeling?

What do you think wildly channeling?
No entiendo la pregunta.
Get thee to a Biblioteca !
I'll buy a verb, Pat.
I don't know about Bartlett, but William Everson IS (or WAS until he left the Dominicans) "Brother Antoninus."
"All art," Everson has written, "seeks to express the silences before and after conceptualization. It is essentially the aesthetic element. When one speaks of art as something seen under the aspect of eternity, it is at that point that cyclical and linear time converge and find their harmony. It is that point in which even the most abstract sculpture becomes the essence of cyclical time, the point of eternal return. The poet uses words to transcend words, to get beyond speech, to register the silence that follows speech."
There's an interview with him at :

Speaking for myself alone, I think that all ART is the use of this world's materials (including words) to express something that transcends this world. That's my personal definiton of ART as distinct from CRAFT. So I'm comfortable with the word CHANNELING to describe the process, because it conveys a sense of choosing and limiting in order to present something inconceivable in a conceivable form.
But a poem is sometimes the key, a key, to an experience locked to the poet, locked to the reader.

I once loved a girl whose name was nioate, her father was Japenese-American kryptologist who work for the U.S. at the end of WWII. He told her tthe A-bomb droppings could have been forestalled if the American translators had know that the Japanese phrase for "We will comply immediately (or something like that) had not been translated as "We will think about it." -- linguist/cultural ediket in mistranslation.
blanched?
Noble effort !
Actually, it's the code name of the horse that Chico offers Groucho in A Day At The Races, and after Groucho buys large amounts of books from Chico, it turns out to be a 40-1 shot named Rosie which doesn't win anyway.
I was amazed at what a Google search of ZVBXPRL turned up !

This reminds me of Lorca's "duende".
Two weeks ago I went to listen Midori Goto and Charles Abramovich. They played Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, Isang Yun. The concert was very good, Midori's technique is absolutely perfect. And the Guarnerius she plays on has a deep gentle voice. But there was something lacking. She played only music. Pure music. Without the passion. I liked it, enjoyed it, but it did not move me. The only time I felt "something" was when she played a sonata by the Korean composer. So I thought to myself, that it is perhaps the cultural difference in perception of the classical music. And maybe also a different understanding of passion in music.
Or perhaps it is "the duende" afterall :-)
Kind regards,
Veronika
Veronika,
This is one of my favorite passages about Lorca.
