Last evenings news had several references to "legacy" which reminded me of some light verse I found in an 1908 newspaper.
It was a little lawyer man
Who softly blushed as he began
He poor, dead husbands will to scan.
He smiled while thinking of his fee
Then said to her so tenderly
"You have a nice fat , legacy"
And when, nex t day, he lay in bed
With bandages on his head
He wondered what on earth he said.

A slight misunderstanding
He was a little lawyer man,
Who meekly blushed as he began
Her poor, dead husband's will to scan.
He smiled as he thought of his fee
And said to her so tenderly:
"You have a nice, fat legacy,"
And when he lay next day in bed,
With plasters on his broken head,
He wondered what on earth he'd said.
Amazing!
I assume you're referring to Ilza's ability/knowledge. I agree.
Yes, that and the newspaper archive site she discovered:
Our town was founded in 1906 when the railroad came through and the GRIT was publishing from the moment the town was platted. These kinds of fillers and boiler plate articles were used to fill up the space in a four sheet tabloid for a population of under 300. I imagine the one Ilza found was one that used these fillers too.
Thanks for the link.
